'Avocado Toast...'

I just discovered the most delicious snack...

...avocado on toasted spelt bread...with sea salt...yum!

I was into the 2nd piece before I even thought about
 taking a photo...

I wonder if this will replace
 our famous peanut butter toast....hmmmm

gates on the brain...

I have been a might obsessed with wrought iron gates of late...

I really, really, really want one on the front of my house...

I want one various other places, too...including on the front of our drive up at the cabin....just not quite as much...

Here are a few a my favorites...

...I wouldn't mind this one little bit...

...private and beautiful...

...this needs to be somewhere within my scope...

...so frenchy...

...a door to a secret garden?

...such grandeur...

...is it OK to covet when you're dreaming???

...found this at Chris and Pam's neighbor's house...

...rustic loveliness...

...this could lead to my garden...

I think this is the one I want at the Monte Estate...

...in this layout...

...dream on...GrammyScilla...

taking my medicine...

Since I don't extract the pulp from my greens/vegetable mixture, I'm not technically 'Juicing'....

I guess you could say I'm 'Smoothie-ing'... :)

...the preparation and ingredients are pretty much
the same as juicing...
(romaine, spinach, cucumber, carrots, apple, etc.)

...it looks just as 'gaggy'.... (no respect)

...and the flavor is comparable...

...and the nutrient value is great...plus lots of fiber....

...but the texture is vastly different...

...fortunately, Hub is on board with this...

...with enough romaine to last awhile...

goats and more goats...

We were over to the Wolford Farm (Kevin and DaNelle's) a few days after they had helped deliver a new batch of goats...

...it was amazing to me how these little 'kids' could and would jump
on and off the table every few seconds...

Angie tried to play it cool like she was all used to it...

...one finally got her attention by looking her right in the eye...

Kevin, Dora and Ethan are quite accustomed
 to all the shenanigans...

...so fun to live on a farm...

...speaking of the cabin...

Last August (2011) we added a new deck and put in some more windows along the back of the cabin...

Well, we didn't, but our neighbor, Scott Vandebosch, who lives across the street and is a contractor did...

...he did a great job...and we love it!!!

We can see even more of our beautiful view...!!!

DaNelle guest posts on the Cabin...

When I saw DaNelle's post on our cabin trip, I asked her if she
would be a guest poster for the trip....and she agreed!
  Thanks DaNelle...........

Summer means Cabin Fun!

We were able to take a quick trip to the cabin last weekend.

I made some more "poptarts" from the recipe posted on the blog

HERE, but they were so rich so this time I used this recipe

HERE for the crust...it's much healthier.

In the green tupperware were some carob brownies

I tried to make but they were way too sweet.

In an effort to use up all our goat's milk we hurried and
made some homemade strawberry ice cream.
It was the PERFECT treat for the ride up to Strawberry.

Kevin really wanted to stop by the Early Bird Cafe on the way up
to eat dinner.  It was their all-you-can-eat Fish Fry special and
Kevin sure got his fill.  The kids ate clam chowder and I had a
Shrimp platter.
We are seafood people in our family, can you tell?  I still don't
think this place even compares to HB's place!
Now THAT is the best food in Strawberry!

Driving through the small town of Pine on our way to Strawberry.

Ahhh, Cabin sweet Cabin!

We saw many critters this weekend.  Here's some scary-looking
lizard with an even scarier tail.

Lydia found a caterpillar, and named it Miller.

Ethan and Grandpa playing a serious game of chess.

It's really hard to swing when it's surrounded by foxtail weeds :(

The "hideaway".

One pretty flower amongst the weeds.

Poor grasshopper hangin' on for dear life.

I've been wanting to visit the Fossil Creek Creamery for some
time now because they have a million goats and make cheese
and all.  Lydia was mesmerized by those huge llamas.

This one was BY FAR the ugliest.  That's probably why it
had it's own pen.

Hey, they milk their goats by machine!  NO fair!
They were pretty impressed that we milk by hand.

Lydia just chattin' about goats and such with the
 grandaughter of the owners there.

Miller the Caterpillar.  And guess what?  The very
next day she built herself a cocoon!
Can't wait to see the change!

Seriously THE BEST Pizza.
(do you see the goat milk fudge sign? hilarious!)

Mmmmmm....ooey gooey Pizza!

Pine is such a cute little town with a ton of shops!

Grandma and Lydia checking out the ravine next to the Cabin.

Playing some air hockey in the game room.
we heard a little scuffle, what could it be?

YIKES!  A mouse!  They ended up finding 3 more!
